Fernu (2017)
Fernu is a multi-functional furniture piece, doubling as a stool or side table. It is manufactured from CNC-cut Valchromat, a hard-wearing timber derivative product coloured with organic dyes, with a natural cork top surface. The design is driven by a single parametric definition, allowing infinite customisation. The digital fabrication information is automatically generated from this definition, including built-in assembly instructions and geometry locating dowels. This makes it quick and easy to assemble, and impossible to assemble incorrectly.
