Automated Timber House (2017)
An unbuilt proposal for a robot-built timber house, designed as part of research with Design Computation Lab, UCL.
A CNC machine is used to cut sheet timber (suggested OSB3).
A robot is used to assemble the sheet components into discrete building blocks which are then stained and sealed.
Window and door blocks are prefabricated around standard components.
The discrete building blocks are stored, transported to the site and assembled into the structure.
Windows and door blocks are fitted and the roof and floor are installed.
